Last Seen: approx 2.10pm Sunday the 7th of December 2003
Where : Under the Kiel Mountain Road overpass on Nambour Connection Road (UBD 66L15) Woombye, approximately 2km north of the Big Pineapple on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland.
Daniel Morcombe was believed to be abducted from a bus stop at the Kiel Mountain Rd overpass, on Nambour Connection Rd, Palmwoods (2km north of the tourist attraction the Big Pineapple) on Sunday, December 7, 2003. Daniel was to catch the 1.30pm bus to the Sunshine Plaza Shopping Centre, Maroochydore for a haircut and to buy Christmas presents, but failed to arrive. Daniel was last seen at approx 2:10pm by others on a passing bus at the overpass.
The Morcombes became concerned for Daniel when he did not return home on the bus.
A dark Blue four door sedan approx 20 years old (1980) similar to the above, was seen near the vicinity of where Daniel was abducted. Police believe the car had NSW registration plates.
A man, described as being middle-aged, was seen about three meters from Daniel underneath the overpass about 2.10pm.

Daniel also had a Wallet containing around $150 cash, a phone card and School ID.

Daniel was carrying a distinctive 'fob' style Watch.
It is engraved with the word "DAN".
